Welcome to My Rally Campaign

• I am Coach Hudson at Bush Hills Academy here in Birmingham, AL. I am the head coach for Lady Hawk Softball and Volleyball, and I am the 8th grade history teacher. My goal for this project is to begin the process of building a softball practice field here at the school. Currently, we have to play all games "on the road" and we practice in an all-grass field next to the school. As you can imagine, this makes it difficult for our program in many respects. This field would allow us to better learn the game, and to eventually expand into a facility that we could use for "home" games and gain revenue.

Why I'm Raising Funds

• The money raised here will go the constuction of the fencing, dugouts, etc. After numerous dealings with the district, we are now taking it on ourselves to get this accomplished. As you are aware, fencing has to be a certain type, and can be quite expensive. This project will also help with any costs incurred in the construction as well.

How I Got Here

• My girls are ready for the season to begin and they are eager to learn. As with any sport, softball is going to offer them another outlet to channel their positive energy. All kids should get to experience competition on a level playing field, and have all the resources required to field a team. My athletes are mostly under-privileged, urban kids who just want the same opportunities other schools have. They are happy, hard-working, wonderful young hearts that thrive when given the chance to succeed.
