Welcome to Our Rally Campaign - Meet our players!
My name is Payton and I am 10 years old. I started playing volleyball over 2 years ago in the local recreational league. Having such a wonderful first experience with volleyball has kept me playing this sport continuously since I started. In the winter I play indoor and in the summer I participate in the Beach volleyball tournaments. This will be my third year playing in the Junior Olympic Volleyball. My team and I are very excited about this season and growing in our sport.
Hi my name is Haedyn and I am in the 6th grade. I became interested in volleyball when I was in the 5th grade. My school offered a rec volleyball league for students that wanted to play. I signed up because I wanted to learn how to play the sport. I like volleyball because I have fun serving and I love digging after balls. Volleyball is a fun team sport and I enjoy playing with my teammates.
My name is Mackenzie Glover and I am 12 years old. I have been involved with sports ever since I was two years old whenever I started gymnastics but my love for volleyball has grown over the past few years whenever I started playing three years ago in the recreational league. I have played in tournaments for my church as well as sand tournaments. I hope to play volleyball for my local middle school and continue through high school and college.
Hi, my name is Kesley Nance, and I am 12 years old. I'm in seventh grade at Archdale Trinity Middle School where I'm currently playing for the school's basketball team. I am very excited that the Junior Olympic Volleyball season is here! I have loved playing volleyball since the third grade when I started playing in local recreational leagues. I have learned a lot about the game since playing in the Junior Olympic Volleyball league and I am ready for the season again!
My name is Cassidy and I just turned 13 years old. I started playing volleyball on a recreational team 4 years ago because I was looking for a sport that being tall would benefit my game. I fell in love with volleyball and began playing Junior Olympic volleyball just about 3 years ago as a middle. I recently was diagnosed with scoliosis and have started physical therapy to help correct my spine curvature, but it does not keep me from playing my heart out on the court. I hope to continue to grow my skills and work hard enough to make it onto my high school team and eventually be recruited to a college team. I play with an amazing group of girls and coaches and I look forward to being with my team mates for a successful and fun Junior Olympic season.
My name is Rosie. I am 12 years old and I live in Archdale, NC. I am very athletic and play both middle school basketball and elite travel volleyball. I am writing because I am trying to raise funds for me and my volleyball team. Our team is trying to travel to the best tournaments in our region. This requires a lot of time and money which makes it difficult for everyone. If you help fund me, each tournament will be blogged on here so you can see how we did.
My name is Emily and I am 12 years old. I am in the 7th grade at Archdale Trinity Middle School. I love sports and play softball, basketball and volleyball. I have played volleyball for 2 years with this being my first year playing J.O. Even though I haven't played volleyball as long as some girls my age, I have fell in love with the game. Every practice is a new learning experience for me. I hope this is the first of many years with my new J.O. family.
Why We are Raising Funds
This year our team is trying to raise $5000. We use this money to pay for courts to practice on as our club does not have a "home" and receives limited courts and times for many teams to try and share. We also have more players on our team and need to purchase more jerseys to replace the jerseys that have been outgrown and make sure our new players have one. Last year we made our warm ups and this year we would like to try and raise enough money to having matching warm ups to wear to the tournaments.
Our team has been set up as an "Elite" team which means that we are all willing, able and eager to play in more tournaments and do several outside of our regional tournaments. The money we are raising will help to pay for these tournaments.
Tri-County is ran by George and we all love playing for him and our team coach Jessica. We get to take lessons from George when he has spare time. Jessica is our team's coach this year and a few of us got to play on her team last year too. Jessica is a fantastic coach and we have learned so much from her. The greatest thing about our team is that although some of the players know each other from school or family, by the end of the season we will all be great friends and partners. The memories that we will be able to create both on and off the court will be cherished forever.
