Can you even believe the team that started like this is now a bunch of skilled 12-year old ballplayers?
Neither can we...
They started out as a bunch of kids thrown together one summer by Coach Nick with one goal in mind, to have fun playing the game of baseball.
Since that summer we have had our fair share of successes and failures. We have learned how great it feels to win a championship with all of our friends by our side celebrating. We also received the more important lesson of losing the big game with all of our friends by our side to help get through it. Winning and losing has never been our sole focus. Learning and having fun has. We've watched as these kids have grown from children into young men and it has been one heck of an experience for all of us involved.
Through it all, we have stayed together as a team. Even though we have added new faces to our roster and some old faces have left, the Nationals have a bond that can't be broken.
So why did you bring me to this site? What's the catch?
Youth baseball is a tricky thing. Right as everyone starts to get the hang of it and really begins to enjoy themselves on the field, it is all over! The "12U" season is the most important season of the whole thing. There really is no telling where everyone will go once the Little League days are over, but we are sure that we have this year with the team. That's why this summer, we have decided to take the kids on a trip to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to enter in a tournament with teams from all over the country. Not only to play baseball for one last time together but to get to be a team for one last time together. A road trip to cap off our youth baseball careers!
As I'm sure everyone knows, this kind of thing isn't cheap. Although we are doing everything we can do to keep the costs as low as possible, it will still cost about $700 per kid to get down there.
We have only sent this site to close family and friends. We aren't begging on Facebook to everyone we know, so if you are reading this, one of the team members cares greatly about you.
