E' Komo Mai (Welcome) to Kamana VBC's Fundraiser Campaign
Kamana VBC is a volleyball club in the Tri-Valley area of Northern California. We offer indoor and beach programs for boys and girls. It is our mission to bring the sport of volleyball to the community by providing sound fundamental training, a positive learning environment, as well as life skills.
We're running this rally campaign to help raise funds for our outreach program, Ho'omau. Ho'omau is the Hawaiian value of perseverance and persistence. In practicing these values, we become more tenacious and resilient, and courageous. It also means to preserve long lasting good. Those who ho'omau do not give up easily, and they understand mistakes and failure to be temporary conditions from which to learn and improve.
Our goal this year is to raise enough funds to cover 6 full scholarships for indoor volleyball, 2 full scholarships for beach, and 2 free clinics to the underprivileged in our area.
Volleyball is one of the most played sports for women, with beach volleyball being the fastest growing NCAA sport in history. With the increased popularity of volleyball, as well as youth sports the cost to participate is out of reach for many. Club Director Kehau Schlick-Harris, recognizes the need to help by giving every child the opportunity to learn, compete and be active by creating the club's outreach program.
Mahalo nui loa (Thank you very much) to our parents, coaches, and board members for all their support and hard work they put in each day! It's because of you we are able to do what we love!
