Despite heavy rains and gale force winds, the girls of Cape Ann Youth Hockey visited elderly and special needs residents this past Friday evening to bring holiday cheer to their Cape Ann neighbors. The girls sang a number of holiday classics for these residents, and left nothing but smiles and cheers in their wake. Nine of our girls from the U14 team sang their hearts out, which adds $90 to the donation that will be made to Cape Ann Special Needs Assistance Program at the end of the season! Thank you for your donations!
One of the highest compliments you can pay a coach is to tell them they motivated your child to work harder, and to be better. Our job as coaches is to motivate your player, however our real job is to instill that motivation within the player themselves. A good coach teaches players that there are positive results from their hard work, and this belief will improve their game, and themselves.
To that end, I am asking for your support and participation in a program I have signed our Cape Ann U14 Girls designed to motivate them to work hard, and to raise money for the Cape Ann Special Needs Assistance Program (SNAP). The girls will have goals on an individual and team basis. When any goal is met, a small donation will be made to SNAP, and that goal will be replaced with the next level in the process. The more goals met, the more money SANP receives. The more goals met, the better the girls get. Then more goals met, the more the girls believe getting better is up to them! Anyone can participate and donate. The strategy here is to get many, and/or multiple small donations throughout the season.
Our goal over the course of the 2018 - 2019 season is to raise $750 for the Cape Ann Special Needs Assistance Program (SNAP). Each team will set and publish goals based on skill development in practice, personal accomplishments, and execution in games. When they reach these goals, a donation will be made to SNAP, and a new goal(s) will be established. Any amount will inspire these young ladies to work hard, and these young ladies and the Olympians thank you in advance for helping the cause!
