My name is Gavrielle Elswick, but I go by Gavi. I am currently playing club volleyball for ATX in Round Rock, Texas. I started playing volleyball when I was around 3 years old with my mom, she's the one that introduced this amazing sport to me and I fell in love with the game. I started playing club volleyball when I was 10, I loved being a part of a team that encouraged me to always improve myself, reach for my goals and never give up.
Playing volleyball has helped me become confident, its helped me understand competition, it's taught me to take a loss and turn it into the drive to make myself better. This sport had played a part in making me who I am today and I never want to stop playing. My first club team was with Blackland in Hutto, my coaches, Nelson and Walker really knew how to teach me the game and helped me to understand the importance of every position. They amazingly taught our team, at age 10, to spot serve. That's amazing, and they are amazing coaches.
I recently went into high school and I made the varsity team for my school as a freshman. My training has allowed me to play all around but my primary position is outside hitter. I believe that my success is the result of hard work and time put in training with my club teams. I'm grateful for the coaches that I've had that taught me so much, for my parents and the sacrifices that they've made to get me here, and the continued encouragement I get from my family and friends.
I plan on playing in college and I know that in order to reach that goal I have to play at a high level of competition in order to show the colleges what I can do and what I will become.
I'm looking to raise funds to assist in my training fees, travel, and equipment because as the years progressed, so have the fees for playing.
Thank you for reading my story and just know that any amount helps and is very much appreciated. Please share my rally on your social media to assist me in meeting my goal.
