Hi, I’m Seamus and I skate for the Polar Caps in Cross Ice. I love playing hockey and it’s my favorite sport. I think everyone should play hockey because it’s so awesome. Please help my hockey league raise money so that other kids can play, too!
Welcome to the Polar Caps Fundraising Campaign for the 2018-2019 Season
The West Madison Polar Caps is a non-profit youth hockey association serving boys and girls living on the westside of Madison, WI. We are committed to helping children throughout our community to develop positive physical, social, and competitive skills through learning and playing the game of hockey. To support our efforts as a non-profit organization, we conduct fundraising activities throughout the year. Our goal for this 2018-2019 hockey season is $30,000.
Why We're Raising Funds
We use the funds that we raise primarily to help bring opportunities to play hockey to underserved members of our community through providing scholarships, providing equipment, operating our outdoor rink, and expanding our Hockey is 4 Life initiative (hockeyis4life.org).
Polar Caps Skate-A-Thon
This year one of our key fundraisers is our Skate-A-Thon taking place on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Madison Ice Arena. The Skate-A-Thon event is for all Polar Caps members to help earn money to support the West Madison Youth Hockey Association. Our players ask for donations from businesses, family, friends, neighbors, and others as part of the Skate-A-Thon. While participation is not mandatory, we encourage all of our Polar Caps players across all of our team levels to help us bring in donations for the Skate-A-Thon.
The Skate-A-Thon will be a fun-filled evening for our Polar Caps players with skating, pond hockey games indoors and potentially outdoors, food provided by Gates & Brovi, and other kids games and activities. Our players will have the opportunitity to win individual and team prizes while skating and in raffles during the evening. In addition, our players will earn prizes for the Skate-A-Thon based on the amount of donations that they raise up through December 8, 2018. Please note that players will not be asking and collecting pledge amounts per lap skated. Instead, we are doing fixed donation amounts to make it simpler for everyone.
How to Donate to a Polar Caps Player for the Skate-A-Thon
We are using this Rally site to collect and track donations by player for the Skate-A-Thon. Polar Caps players who are participating in the Skate-A-Thon will be listed as members of the Rally Roster. To donate in the name of a player, just use the link to their personal Rally Roster page that they share with you. You may also select their name from the list of players from the Roster page or click on the orange Contribute button and choose their name from the list. Please make your donation by December 8, 2018 in order for it to be counted for the Skate-A-Thon.
When you make a donation to the Polar Caps, please consider covering the service and transaction fees as part of your donation. This means that 100% of the pledged contribution will go directly to the Polar Caps.
How to Join as a Polar Caps Player
