As a western Washington native, summiting Rainier has been a bucket-list item for as long as I can remember and I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to give it a go this summer! I will be climbing with 7 other incredible women and raising funds to benefit an awesome non-profit, SheJumps, an organization that consists of women and girls of all ages and backgrounds, and encourages females to reach their highest potential through outdoor adventure.
Years ago I wanted to become more involved in mountaineering and ski touring but just didn’t know how. SheJumps offers women like me opportunities to participate in these activities (and more) with other like-minded women by fostering a community that supports trying new things, getting better at the things we already do, and creating opportunities to give back and share what we know and love.
The funds I raise for the climb will be donated to SheJumps Wild Skills Youth Initiative. Wild Skills events are geared toward building life skills and promoting empowerment and confidence through positive female role models and outdoor experiences. To learn more about the Wild Skills Youth Initiative, see the link below. https://www.getwildskills.org
SheJumps relies on donations to ensure females of all ages and backgrounds get into the outdoors and become part of a bigger community. SheJumps is a registered 501(c)(3), and please note that your donation is a tax deductible contribution, the nonprofit tax ID is 68-0662227. SheJumps will provide a tax receipt for any contributions made on behalf of yourself or business.
Our fundraising climb joins women from across the country to ascend Mt. Rainier in order to raise funds for SheJumps’ youth programs. SheJumps is making every effort to provide our climbing team with the best experience imaginable. This all-ladies climb will roll out with the true spirit of SheJumps, filled with encouragement, challenge and unbelievable stoke!
RAISING FUNDS FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
SheJumps Mt. Rainier Climb contributes to the nonprofit’s Wild Skills program. Wild Skills youth events teach young girls the survival and technical skills they need for outdoor adventuring. These skills can be applied in any season and include first aid, navigation, leave no trace and shelter building. Our events encourage girls to learn new skills, take on challenges and think creatively which develops perseverance and fosters confidence. The funds raised from this climb will help further this vision. https://www.getwildskills.org
Our mission is to increase the participation of women & girls in outdoor activities. The SheJumps community consists of females of all backgrounds and ages who help one another reach their highest potential through outdoor adventures and education. www.shejumps.org
