I am Abigail Logan from Orlando, FL. My goal is to become an Olympic shooter as well as attend and shoot for one of our Service Academies (West Point, Annapois or USAFA).
A litte more about me. I am a high school sophomore at Timber Creek High School in Orlando, FL. I currently shoot international smallbore and air rifle competitively. Getting involved in this sport has not only made me an excellent shooter, but also given me greater self-confidence by doing something hard and doing it well.
I am a member of my Air Force JROTC unit
I have been a member of my high school's AF JROTC unit for the past two years. This upcoming year I will be the officer-in-charge of our morale and welfare squadron.
My Accomplishments So Far
I started shooting in 2018. I train every week at my local club and practice at home by dry-firing and other drills. I have competed in several NRA matches in which I have competitively placed. I just recently attended the Blackhawk Open in Georgia in which I competed against the likes of the Army Marksmanship Unit.
Currently, I am shooting with 1970s rifles
My current rifles are borrowed from my local club. They are good rifles to get started, but are lacking many of the adjustments needed to be competitive at the highest levels. To be competitive and help achieve my goal of making it to the Olympics, I need to purchase an Anschutz or Walther smallbore and air rifles.
Competing requires buying ammunition and lots of travel
My parent's are funding the purchase of equipment, ammunition and the travel required for the sport. I will use the funds that I raise to purchase a smallbore and air rifle.
Thank you to my parents and coaches
I want to thank my parents for all of their support brining me to practice each week and to matches. Also a big thank you to the coaches that have taught me so much and that I continue to learn from!
Thank you in advance for supporting me
If you decide to support me, I want to thank you very much. I think it is important for girls to be involved in shooting sports. By supporting me, you are definitely doing that!
