Welcome to My Rally Campaign
Camden Guyton is an amazing 5 year old golfer from Kathleen, Georgia. Recently, he was invited to play in the U.S. Kids Golf World Championships (yes you heard it right, WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS). This three day tournament is the largest and most prestigious event in the world for players 12 and under, attracting over 1,500 participants from across the United States and more than 50 countries abroad. Camden will have the pleasure of representing the state of Georgia and The United States of America in the 6 and Under Division.
We are seeking your help in supporting Camden's dreams of playing in this tournament. We are a family who plans and budgets nearly everything. Unfortunately, we did not foresee our son qualifying for the World Championships during his first year of ever playing golf. The reality is that Camden's gift accelerated at a pace that no one can explain, and to be honest, we were not prepared.
To put this into prospective, Camden picked up his first real golf club in September of 2018 without any experience playing golf. Five months later, he showed enough progress to enter him into his first tournament. During his first tournament, he finished 3rd out of 6 players. Recognizing that he had a talent, we continued to enter him in tournaments, but we never expected that by the end of the season he would perform the way he performed. For those who understand golf, when he started playing tournaments in February, Camden shot a 59, 69, 55 on 9 holes. By mid-season (April), this amazing kid improved his score by 15+ strokes and shot 46, 46, and 44. For those who do not understand golf, it is important to point out that it usually take adults years to post a score under 50, and it only took Camden 6 months.
At the conclusion of the season, we realized that Camden played well enough to receive an invitation to the Georgia State Invitationals at Callaway Gardens, which will occur in mid June. Although we did not have expectations of him accomplishing this at the start of the season, we were able to include this State Invitational (registration, travel, lodging) in our budget, so we registered him.
A few weeks after registering him for the Georgia State Invitational, we received an invitation to the World Championships...whoaaaaa. Most kids dream of this invitation. The conflict is that we already have a week long vacation planned the week before the World Championship, so we were not prepared to fund another week long trip. This is why we are seeking support from Camden's biggest supporters.
How will the funds be used?
US Kids World Championships is a 3 day golf tournament, but the true experience comes from the weeklong list of activities they have planned for the kids. We would use the funds to pay for the 6 day trip which includes registration, travel, lodging, practice round, and miscellaneous items that will be strictly for golf.
