Welcome to the official fundraising site of Allie Lee. I am 23 years old and this is my third year on the U.S Freestyle Aerial Ski Team. I grew up in Manchester, CT. In highschool I attended Waterville Valley Academy in Waterville, NH, where I found my love for aerial skiing. I am currently taking classes at the University of Utah and training full time in Park City, Utah.
HOW I GOT HERE
My whole skiing career began when I was very young. It started as weekends in Vermont on the Okemo Racing Team. I was also a gymnast and quite the daredevil, racing just didn't seem like the right fit for me. My brother was on the Okemo Freestyle Team and one day I decided to follow him and hit some jumps. The rest is history.
When high school approached I started to realize this sport was what I loved to do. I said goodbye to my family and packed my bags for boarding school/ ski school in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire. I competed in all disciplines of freestyle; moguls, aerials, slopestyle, and halfpipe. After a few years competing in all freestyle disciplines, I found a real love for the sport of aerials and started training full time in Lake Placid, New York. I made the US Ski Team for the first time at age 18. Injury kept me from the sport for two years during which I began college at the University of Vermont. When I was healthy again, it was coaching a camp for aspriring freestylers in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire that brought me back into the sport of aerials.
I knew I hadn't finished what I set out to accomplish. I ended up coming back, winning the NorAm Tour with 7 podiums and was once again named to the US Ski Team. Since then I have made my debut on the World Cup Tour. My first season I saw three top ten finishes. This past season was my first full season on the World Cup Tour and it was my best season yet! I finished the season ranked 11th in the World. I also had my first top 5 finish at the Ukraine World Cup. This summer, I have begun training triples in hopes of competing them this coming season. My goal is to represent The United States at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games.
WHAT I'M AIMING TO RAISE
I am hoping to raise $15,000 to fund my season. This will cover airfare, traveling fees, and the cost of hotels. I appreciate anything you can give and all of your support. I would also appreciate if you could send the word out about my Rally!
