PNW local, globe trotter, adventuress. At 33 years old, I've spent three and a half years inspiring audiences to get active outside through my work in Content Marketing and Social Media for outdoor brands Eddie Bauer and Helly Hansen. I've recently shifted my focus from selling things, to inspiring experience through my work as a Content Marketing Manager for Clipper Vacations, a local travel company specializing in Pacific Northwest adventure. My passion for the outdoor permeates many activities, including mountaineering, cycling, rock climbing, road cycling, skiing, snowshoeing, scuba diving, sailing, and yoga. In 2013, I summited three out of Washington's five volcanos, and after spending the last two years living and traveling abroad, I'm eager to continue climbing mountains and building my outdoor skill set.
I'm a passionate explorer of our planet and committed to preserving our outdoor playground for generations to come. Life outdoors has taught me a universal language that bridges cultures, unites strangers, and forges bonds of sisterhood. Outdoor adventure forces us to be mindful our use of resources as part of our organic connection to the environment, and if we are to continue freely enjoying the splendors of our planet, we must nurture this connection among our youth. For this reason, I have chosen to climb Mount Rainier as a celebration of my return the Pacific Northwest after two years living and traveling abroad. I can think of no better way to commemorate this milestone by committing myself to action that will leave a meaningful and lasting impact for future generations. I look forward to joining with fellow women from around the Pacific Northwest to help inspire and empower girls to live out the fullest expression of themselves through outdoor objectives.
JULY 21 - 24, 2016
Our first fundraising climb joins women from across the country to ascend Mt. Rainier in order to raise funds for SheJumps’ youth programs. SheJumps is making every effort to provide our climbing team with the best experience imaginable. This all-ladies climb will roll out with the true spirit of SheJumps, filled with encouragement, challenge and unbelievable stoke!
SPIRIT OF THE CLIMB
There is a unique spirit of comradery with all SheJumps events. Endless high fives, gut busting laughs and summit dance parties are just the beginning. We consciously foster a positive energy that exudes encouragement in stride with the technical, physical and emotional challenge at hand. Our all female guides and staff offer support and expertise throughout your training, fundraising and of course, the climb. Multiple training hikes will take place prior to the climb to ensure you’re physically ready for the challenge and to get to know your team. This is sure to be the experience of a lifetime!
RAISING FUNDS FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
SheJumps Mt. Rainier Climb contributes to the non profit’s Wild Skills program. Wild Skills youth events teach young girls the survival and technical skills they need for outdoor adventuring. These skills can be applied in any season and include first aid, navigation, leave no trace and shelter building. Our goal as an organization is to grow this program into a long term mentorship model that provides young girls the community that connects them to other women and the natural environment. The funds raised from this climb will help further this vision.
Our mission is to increase the participation of women & girls in outdoor activities. The SheJumps community consists of females of all backgrounds and ages who help one another reach their highest potential through outdoor adventures and education. www.shejumps.org
