Hi everyone! My name is Ryan Taal and I am a bobsleigh athlete with the Dutch Bobsleigh Team. I crew for Ivo de Bruin at the World Cup level. We are currently gearing up for the next season which begins in November.
I will be starting a new rally soon once I have some logistics in place, but if you feel you want to support me now, feel free to donate.
Who I Am
I am an amateur athlete based out of Calgary, Alberta. I used to compete for the Canadian Bobsleigh Team but last season made the switch to the Dutch Bobsleigh Team. I balance working full time with my training which happens 6 days a week. I work in the Power Distribution industry with control and data concentration systems. When I am not training or working I enjoy BBQing, hanging out with my friends, and going dancing. I also enjoy getting out to the mountains when I can get a chance.
Why We Need Your Help
I usually self fund myself through the seasons but this year as most of the season is in Europe I will be unable to work while sliding and am hoping to find some support to get me thorugh the season. There are a lot of costs involved with sliding, they include food, accomodations, travel (both airfare and driving track to track), training costs, supplement costs, equipment costs, insurances, as well as covering costs back home while we are away.
