Welcome to My Rally Campaign
First, I'd like to thank you for visiting my Rally!
My name is Jarret Eaton, I'm 26 years old, and I plan to compete in the 110 meter hurdles, at the 2016 USA Track and Field Olympic Trials in July. This will be the second Olympic Trials I have qualified for and my goals are set high for the Olympic Games in Rio!
Hurdling has always been a passion of mine since the first day I was introduced to it in 7th grade. Since that introduction, hurdling has heavily influenced the direction of my life and the decisions I’ve made to this point. I have sacrificed many things in my life in order to peruse a lifelong dream of mine...to represent my country at the Olympics and win gold in my event. Currently, I am just like many other professional track and field athletes around the nation simply going against the odds to get the job done. With the love and support of my friends and family, that task becomes a little less difficult.
Balancing my professional track career while working as a substitute educator was a struggle at first but is now a good fit for me.
I am able to have intense practices while working on another passion of mine, educating children. I am able to sustain myself financially working as an educator but I am still lacking in key areas of my training. Proper treatment and nutritional supplements are vital for recovery from competition and without them I lack an important part to my training.
Why I'm Raising Funds
My Rally Goal is $5,000 for my journey through the 2016 Track and Field season.
Here is how the money that I raise will be used:
Treatment: Physical Therapy and massage therapy sessions are vital in recovery. Without these treatment sessions it is hard for my body to recover properly before the next hard workout or competition increasing the demand from my body.
Supplements: Protein and vitamins are essential in order for my body to grow and recover at a healthy rate. Supplying my body with the right fuel and supplements keeps my body working more efficiently.
Equipment: A medicine ball and foam roller are two mobile items that allow me to get a good workout and recover when I have no access to any treatment facilities.
Travel to the USA Olympic Trials: Travel and lodging for the 2016 Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
How I Got Here
I was introduced to running track in 7th grade. I ran track and played football until my freshmen year in college. I gave up football when I transferred to Syracuse University to focus mainly on track and field. At SU I grew and developed mentally and physically to eventually become the programs first individual NCAA national champion in 2012. After my senior season at Syracuse I moved on to persue my professional career in track and field where I have spent the last four years competing internationally and on the world stage.
