Welcome to my Rally campaign! My name is Bjorn Waugaman and I've been given the opportunity to play defense for the Tier 1 U16 West Coast Renegades Hockey Club, but I need your help to do it.
I am raising funds to help cover the cost of one season and I would like to invite you and all of my friends, family, and supporters to join my team and help me live my athletic dream.
What I can give you in return for a small contribution is my sincere promise to work extremely hard to make the most of the opportunity, and to provide you with updates on my journey through this season. I also promise to continue to give back to our community by teaching and mentoring young players.
My goal is to reach a total of at least $6500, assisting my dream of playing the highest level competition leading to junior and college hockey. Any funds raised will only be used for the training and travel expenses associated with my team. Reaching my rally goal means the world to me, as without assistance covering the expenses, it will be difficult to follow this dream. I have also worked a full time job this summer, saving every penny to put towards the costs.
I’ve played hockey since I was five years old, but three years ago the deep passion awoke within me for hockey. Sounds cheesy, I know, but that is the only way I could ever describe it. That year, I had the unique opportunity to play for Coach John Solomon, of the Tier II Utah Jr Grizzlies and currently coaching the Tier 1 U14 West Coast Renegades. I grew a lot that year, in both size and skill, which payed off when we were able to attend the U14 National Tournament right here in my hometown of Salt Lake City. Nationals was a great opportunity for me as I got to experience first hand that high level of play against skilled players on elite teams. I even scored a goal in one of our games!
My first year of Tier II U16, last year, was spent with Coach Daryl Olsen, of the Utah Jr Grizzlies. We played up in a Tier 1 ‘AAA’ league (Tier 1 is the highest USA Hockey sanctioned youth level), the NJPHL (National Junior Prospects Hockey League). We played well throughout the season and were able to end up finishing 4th in the NJPHL Playoffs- the highest finish ever by a Utah team. Playing in this league showed me I have what it takes to compete on a high level and only stoked the fire within to achieve my goals.
To achieve this dream, I need your help in bringing me one step closer to my Rallyme goal. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this guys, it really means alot. I’d also like to thank my boosters, all of them, for being willing to help me accomplish my goals! Additionally, I ask all my supporters to please share my Rally with friends and family through social media as any extra help is welcome.
