Hello, my name is Brody Tucker and I play on the 02 Red team for Beach FC. My goal for my Rally page is to raise money to help pay fees to travel overseas to play soccer with some of the top youth academy teams in London England. I am the captain of my current team and for this event I will be one of the oldest players on the team. This is critical to me because I have always dreamed about playing soccer overseas and this is a huge step for me as a player.
I am trying to raise funds to help cover the cost of my plane ticket and hotel.
I have been playing travel soccer for Beach FC for over 5 years. I have also been fortunate enough to play my State team through the Olympic Development Program. This opportunity has allowed me to play against some of the best players throughout Virginia all the way up to Maine including New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.
US Soccer is adopting a new practice where players play with kids born within their birth year. This is a new procedure as prior I played with kids born in 2001 and 2002. With this change, I had to stop playing with friends that I have played with for years. I had very good and long lasting friendships with some players that I have played with since I was 9 years old. I was one of the younger players on my prior team and now I am one of the oldest on my current team. After the change I have stepped up and become captain of the 02 team. My best friend and I have become leaders to this this new team and I take a great deal of honor in that.
In the Spring of 2015, I fractured my L5 in my back and was out for four months. I missed being Captain of my middle school team, helping them play in the semifinals, and missed my entire Spring season with my Beach FC team. My doctor told me I could walk, sit, and lie down meaning I couldn’t run, jump, or participate in any physical activity for four months. Mentally and physically it was an injury that I struggled with. Not being able to play for all those months made me realize how much I truly love the game and forced me to work very hard to come back. I feel I came back stronger mentally and physically as I realized how very much I loved this game. It gave me a new appreciation and respect that I take with me every time I step on the field.
I would like to thank my best friend and co-Captain who will also be traveling with me to London, Trevor Ferguson. I would also like to thank my coach from last year who believed in and gave me this opportunity, Coach Waite. I would also like to thank Coach Blair for constantly pushing me to be the best player I can be. Finally I would like to thank my mom who has managed my team for the last 4 years and has always believed and been there for me.
If you cannot donate at this time, I understand and would just appreciate your words of support for me and my team.
Thank you
Brody
