Welcome to My Rally Campaign
Hello! My name is Rose LeVally and I play Volleyball at Muskingum University. I am currently studying International Business and International Affairs with minors in Spanish and Marketing. It has always been a dream of mine to travel the world and studying abroad is a way that I can make that possible. My goal is to raise up to $6,200 to study in Costa Rica, and although this is an ambitious goal, it is something where every donation is greatly appreciated! This is critical to me because I still have one more year of college to go, and I have been working part time all throughout college to do everything I can to be prepared for my future. Studying abroad is a requirement for my majors, and is something to broaden my cultural palate.
These funds will be used to help pay for my tuition in Costa Rica, as well as air fare, athletic training, and meals.
How I Got Here
I have had many different and wonderful opportunities that has instilled within me, a passion for service to others and care for basic human rights to all people, but especially with young people. My parents have encouraged me to become more selfless by encouraging me to help others at a young age by going on many different mission trips. I have been on four, diverse mission trips both within the continental United States and a third world country. These places include post Katrina hurricane rebuilding on the Gulf Coast, Inner-city Chicago, a flood damaged Iowa, and Jamaica. Similarly, I had an opportunity to study in Washington, D.C. where I immersed myself in the topic of sustainable development and had an internship with YSA. While in D.C. I networked and visited many different non-profit organizations and continued to develop a passion with youth development, and the severe lack of water, and sanitation and hygiene systems, also known as WASH. I extensively studied WASH, where I kept a portfolio featuring up to 30 pages in specifically that topic. During my internship, I communicated with all of YSA’s partners from around the globe, organized service opportunities for young people to help their community, and helped with social media marketing emphasizing young people that already have been doing great things in their community. These ventures have only solidified my desire to serve those who cannot serve themselves. This program is meant to have a service learning component, and while in Costa Rica, I will be taking an International Business course as well as having and internship primarily focusing on youth development.
Playing volleyball in college has always been a dream of mine, and having the opportunity to do so has been tremendous. Volleyball has been an integral part in my life and I have learned about the successes of teamwork, time management and perserverence. While in college I have maintained grades that have placed me on the deans list every semester, and had the determination to work out and stay in shape even when I am tired and not in the mood.
Thank you to all of my coaches who have encouraged me to become a better player and teammate. Thank you to my professors and teachers who have advocated for me and helped me become passionate about my future. Thank you to my parents for instilling within me a passion to serve others and become independent to follow my dreams. Thank you to my friends for your constant support.
