Welcome to My Rally Campaign
My name is Kaitlynn Woodward. I am 20 years old attending Johnson State College as a Health and Exercise Science major. I currently play on the varsity softball team at my college, and I have played several years of ASA softball with the Comets Organization based in Bow, New Hampshire. My passion for softball has allowed me to learn and grow as an individual, and I have made lasting friendships with teammates and coaches.
I recently received an invitation to join the Beyond Sports Organization on a two-week softball tour in Cape Town, South Africa. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to share my love and knowledge of softball with people around the world. My goal is to raise enough money for me to attend this tour, so I can continue to learn and share my love of softball with others.
Why I'm Raising Funds
The funds that I am raising for this trip will be used towards the cost of the two-week tour. In total, the trip expense is $4,500. This amount includes travel, housing, and food expenses.
How I Got Here
I have spent the majority of my teen years playing and practicing softball. I started playing softball when I was in 6th grade, and people used to tell me that I wasn't good enough to play at a competitive level. However, I didn't let their words bring me down. Since then, I have worked with multiple accredited coaches that have helped me develop every aspect of my softball skills. I have played on a competitive ASA team that won the 2016 ASA New Hampshire States, and now I am playing at the collegiate level. It is still hard for me to believe how much I have developed as a person and as an athlete throughout my softball career.
I would like to thank everyone who has supported me and pushed me to be a better version of myself. I would like to especially thank my dad for being at all of my practices, games, and being my #1 fan. I'd also like to thank Rose Schieck for not only being my pitching coach but also my role model. I'd also like to thank all of my ASA coaches, high school coaches, and college coaches who challenged me mentally and physically in the game of softball.
